Pampers Swaddlers vs Amore vs Coterie: Is the Upgrade Worth It?

This post is in paid partnership with Coterie. I only endorse products I trust and use in my own family.

As a mom of three, I’ve spent more time than I care to admit thinking about diapers. When I heard Pampers came out with a new line, Pampers Amore, my interest was piqued. Amore is marketed as Pampers’ “best diaper,” with claims of superior performance and clean materials.

I wanted to see if this Pampers upgrade was worth it, so I compared Pampers Swaddlers, Pampers Amore, and Coterie (my longstanding favorite diaper brand).

Here’s my full breakdown across absorbency, clean materials, fit and feel, price, and convenience. The TLDR? Coterie is still my top pick! 🏆

Absorbency

We’re talking diapers here, so performance is extremely important. I need a diaper that I can trust to get the job done. To test how quickly each diaper wicks moisture away, I poured 8 oz of water in each diaper and compared absorbency speed. Since some brands claim to hold up to 16 oz, I then added another 8 oz to see how they held up.

Swaddlers: ⭐️⭐️ Liquid pooled as I poured, and ran off in quite a few places. Was damp to the touch after the second cup of water and had a small amount of leaking through the back panel.

Amore: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Also did not seem to absorb liquid as easily, I noticed some pooling as I was pouring. Did not seem to leak through the back panel, however. After resting, drier to the touch than Swaddlers.

Coterie: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absorbed liquid almost instantly, no pooling or rolling of liquid, and diaper felt dry to the touch on both sides after both cups of water.

Winner: Coterie

Clean Materials

I’m pretty conscious about what I use on my kids when it comes to clean materials. And while it’s great that more brands than ever are focusing on non-toxic diapers, not all of them meet the same standards. Here’s what each diaper offers:

Swaddlers: ⭐️ Fragrance free, however only elemental chlorine free (not TCF), contains lotion, limited ingredient transparency, and no third-party safety verification

Amore: ⭐️⭐️ No fragrance, parabens, latex, however only elemental chlorine free (not TCF). Skin conditioners like shea butter are also included.

Coterie: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TCF, free of fragrance, lotion, parabens, phthalates, and EWG Verified. Plus Coterie publishes safety reports, and is third party verified

Winner: Coterie

Fit & Feel

I’m a firm believer that diapers should be held to high standards and actually be pleasant to use for both baby and parent. Soft to the touch, no weird gaps, no irritated skin, and no chemical or fragrance smell. At the end of the day, the best fit will vary from baby to baby, but here’s my experience with my own kiddo, who is average sized.

Swaddlers:  ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fit was normal, however there was a chemical smell to the diaper. Feels like a basic diaper, not overly soft or luxurious

Amore: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fit was similar to Swaddlers, however I still noticed a slight chemical smell when diaper was wet. Feel was nice, soft and fluffy

Coterie: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Super pleased with the performance and fit! The softest feel by far and no smell whatsoever

Winner: Coterie

Price

Pricing fluctuates a bit with each brand based on how many packs of diapers you purchase, if you subscribe, etc. Here’s a rough price breakdown, as of July 2026:

Swaddlers:  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~$0.33 per size 3 diaper

Amore: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~$0.42 per size 3 diaper

Coterie: ⭐️⭐️ ~$0.57 per size 3 diaper (with subscription)

Winner: Swaddlers

Convenience & Customer Service

As parents, we all have a mile long to-do list. Removing even one thing from the daily mental load is a win! Here are my thoughts on my experiences with each diaper brand.

Swaddlers: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Available online at Amazon, Target and Walmart. Also typically available at grocery stores and pharmacies. No subscription offering

Amore: ⭐️⭐️ Available online at Amazon, Target and Walmart. No subscription offering

Coterie: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Available online and at Whole Foods. Subscription available and next level customer service, including 24/7 text support

✨Winner: Coterie

Final Verdict

❌ In my opinion, the Amore diapers were not worth the upgrade.

After thorough testing, I honestly couldn’t find much difference between Pampers Swaddlers and Amore diapers, which makes me wonder if the new line is mostly a marketing tactic.

✅ If you’re looking for a true diaper upgrade, I’d skip Amore and jump to Coterie. For the extra 15 cents per diaper (compared to Amore), you’re getting the fastest-absorbing diaper that’s also EWG verified and TCF. (Curious why TCF matters? Here’s a good breakdown.)

Coterie has focused on creating a clean diaper from the start, and in my experience, is the best performing diaper out there!
